Ps3 Won't Play Anything

I just got a brand new 20 GB PS3 and it was working fine for about 2 weeks then I updated the systems firmware to 1.51. Now nothing works. It won't boot up any discs. Blu-Ray movies and games, PS1 or PS2 games nothing. It's not even recognizing them. I put in a movie or game and nothing pops up under the game or video tab. Anyone know what's wrong or how to fix it?

Sounds like you have a little corrupt firmware. If you dont mind losing all your settings, account, game saves ect ect then I would do a full system restore if i was you.
Under systems and settings perform these:
Restore Default Settings and Restore PS3 System.

Then update he firmware again and test out the disk drive.

If that doesnt help then you may need to call sony for support since your warrenty is still good.

If what Illicious said to do does not fix your problem then return it to the store you bought it from cause sony is replaceing broken units with refurbs if you send them into sony....The refurbs thing was talked about in the offical playstation forums.... As of now sony is replaceing all broken units with refurbs. A heads up
