So I have an 80GB PS3 K01 model and I wanted to upgrade to a 250gb HDD.
I installed the new hard drive without thinking and it took me to a screen saying the system storage partition is corrupted provide an update and press start and select.
Now all went well, the hard drive was formatted, until the system update where it hung at 99%.
I let it sit like this for about and hour before I flipped the switch on the rear and retried the update.
Same thing happened.
And I repeated this process until I tried to boot into safe mode,
Couldn't boot into safe mode and brought me to the update in progress screen.
Now I finally gave in and called sony, they told me to try and put the old hard drive back in and see if it booted to the regular OS.
It didn't and brought me to the same screen saying the system storage blah blah.
I turned the system off and tried going into safe mode.
Safe mode worked with the original hard drive so they made me try options 3 and 4 which also brought me to that black system storage screen.
They said there is no more they can do and I had to send it in to them for $120.
I told them loln0pe.
After this I tried both options 5 and 6 which both just made the system freeze.
I was changing the hard drives because I was going to have the system flashed to 3.55/4.41 CFW.
Now since I have told you exactly what happened,
what can I do?
Would the person flashing be able to repair it with their E3 flasher or would this problem only be solved by Sony?
Help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!
