ps3 vga help
hey guys, i have a VGA ps3 lead which i use to connect my PS3 to my VGA monitor. it works and everything. i also play my ps3 on my main tv and hence have to reset the display settings. after i have finished playing on my TV, I cannot connect my PS3 to my monitor, it says something about analogue output.
for it to actually work, i have to connect my ps3 to my TV and then connect it to my monitor once i have selected the appropriate settings on the screen.
is there any simpler way? where i could possibly have two display output settings or something. thanks
If you're switching between AV output and HDMI output then when connecting it press and hold the power button when turning it on until it beeps a second time, you should then see the display fire up and ask you to confirm the settings.
As far as I know this is the easiest way of switching between two interfaces as it check what's the active video output when it beeps the second time and switches to that one.
the TV is not HDMi. its standard cable that i received with the PS3. I hold the power button when connecting it to TV, then when i do the same whilst connecting to the monitor, it says some analoge input error. hence why i have to connect it back to the TV, and select the correct settings for the Monitor, then connect the monitor if u get me.
Oh ok, I'm not sure there is a remedy for that bar having to select the appropreate settings for your monitor just before switching from TV to Monitor.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help...
hmm. thanks anyways, maybe i should invest in a new HDI monitor or something lol
If your monitor takes DVI you can get a cheap adapter and convert the HDMI to DVI. Works a treat, gotta use the analog cable for sound though.
If you're going this route, make sure it has a female adapter for HDMI because they can damage the HDMI port on the PS3, whereas the screws can take the strain on the monitors end. So it'd be PS3>HDMI cable>HDMI to DVI adapter>monitor.
