PS3 Unable to Read Discs

Hi Community

I recently brought dirt cheap PS3 120GB Slim off ebay which doesnt read any discs off. Do i only need to change the laser or are there other parts needed? Also would i need to buy the tray drive mesh if im only just replacing the laser?

are they all relatively expensive to replace? and how would i know which one to change?

Try taking the PS3 apart and cleaning the laser lens with a Q-tip and some alcohol. If it improves disc reading then it's probably not the board.
