I read from another post someone solved a similar problem by first servicing it for YLOD.

I think your PS3 is starting to experience some sort of hardware failure (probably YLOD). So that's why it's taking so long to start up. When you try to do anything, safe mode and all, it just hangs.

So try sending it for YOLD service first. It might just come back to life after the service.

Well, I just found my coupon I had bought it at.

12/11/2009. So its 1,5 year old now, Is the warrenty of a ps3 1 or 2 years old.

And 2= Does it fit in the warrenty, If they repare it they will see its jailbroken.

3= If they repair it, I heard they sent it back in the newest firmware =3.60 is that true?

    Regards, Berkant

My understanding is that they don't even look at the unit you ship them. They just grab one off the refurbed pile and ship it back to you. So, there's a chance you could get any firmware. There have been talks that Sony is requesting anyone that has the means to update the firmware to the latest version before sending it out / selling it. Take that with a grain of salt though.

Ah thats better, But i`m not even sure its ylod.

It boots just in 30 seconds, Get backs in the update screen that doesn`t even shows the % and when its done you hear a sound ( Like when you get an error when doing something on your ps3 like starting a PSN game where you dont got DLC fore) and stays blackscreen.

Have you ever opened this PS3 or dropped it / been rough with it in any way lately? How is your ventilation w/ it? I would almost have to agree with the other users that it sounds like YLOD (I should know, my main PS3 just YLOD'd on me last weekend ). It started locking up at first and having weird graphical issues in game. Then it'd shut down and do the YLOD thing. I was able to let it sit for a couple of hours and then start playing on it again fine. Then the other day, I went to turn it on and it went straight to YLOD. From this point on, I can't turn it on without it going right to the flashing lights. So, my suggestion is that if this is still under warranty, don't f around with it and just send it in.

    Hmm, It started like yesterday.

I tried to install the CFW rebug it hang on 99% then it shut itself off (Not installing // it was copying to the hard disk).

After i tried it once more , It became black after 100% and rebooted it self and i had no more internet on the ps3, Altough the games/homebrew still did work fine.

Edit: Do you know by the way howlong the warrenty of the ps3 is, I bought mine at 12-11-09 so it has been +- 1,5 year. It`s the 2004A 120gb model

the PSN icon became RED and it did began to take 30 seconds to boot.

I decided to install OFW again and after that the CFW.

Altough the it did stuck at installing the OFW.

An no , I didn`t open the ps3, And i never have the ps3 on the ground, I`ve it always on the side so it doesn`t become overheatted

actually my buddy shipped in his original launch 80 gig BC card readers with extra usb ports to sony about 3 weeks ago because it bricked on him doing the OFW 3.56 update had to pay $129.00 + tax to get it fixed and they sent him back the same model (no slim) (80 gig BC card readers and extra usbs) on OFW 3.40 i popped that things cherry with CFW the day he got it back in the mail so theres still hope if you go through sony you will get a hackable one back just act quick on it if your going to send it to them before they do start updating the refurb consoles

Jub my internet also stoped working after that, That was the main reason i wanted to update back and restore CFW , Yes my ps3 did still connect wireless and still does, Altough I`ve a blackscreen after it does update.

And i don`t know it atm, Since i can`t get acces to the XMB, All my PC`s/Laptop/Phone`s are hooked up wireless.

Could be your wifi/bluetooth module has gone bad. That would cause an incomplete update cycle. I'd look at getting the unit warrantied if you can.
