ps3 Slim 3001 B not taking in a disc ** HELP ** –
Disc was stuck in drive and wouldnt eject, so since its not under warranty I took it apart and got disc out, so then it wouldnt accept a disc, I tried to slighty push it in and it wouldnt go, so I ordered a new blu ray drive (same model) online and changed it out and still the same thing, wont pull the disc in, wont load it, can still get on system, get online do everything, but insert a disc...please help me its a model 3001 B.

does it have its own logic board on that model as it could be a fault with the logic board not the drive itself if its doing it with the new 1 i would play around with your old drive just incase u do something wrong.
willing to pay someone via paypal if they help me fix this.
like badboy said if your sure you rebuilt the drive correctly (and they can be rite bastards) after removing your game and your having the same problem with a new drive then its probably the logic board. if your on custom firmware then its easy to remarry a new logic board, if however your on ofw its a little trickier but can be done with a little know how and a lot of patience check this tutorial out PS3 controller board BGA swap - YouTube
but i should of mentioned theres a really easy way to tell if your logic board is dead, download a demo and see if it works, it works then the board is fine it black screens then it could be the board
so if I put it all back, turn it on download a demo and if the demo works its not the logic board and has to be something in the drive assymbley?
they say if the logic board is bust then you cant load any games, demos or other things like bbc i player but i have long wondered if there could be a more localized fault on the logic board that could effect just the ejection system hence the demos still working................any way im not sure just a theory.
what i would do in your case is take the top of the br drive and pop a disk in, dont forget to put the little round magnet on top to stop the disk spinning off and turn the ps on to see what happens. depending on what drive you have their are some little black switches you will have to press in at the same time to get the laser deck to rise and start reading the disk.
i guess is its your loading/ejecting mechansim thats not aligned properly (easy to screw up, bastard to sort out) if you have an older drive you will find many videos on the net that show you how to do this unfortunaly if your drive is a new one finding a video to show you how to realighn the drive wont be easy.
the top and bottom have of the mech have pegs that stick out and must go into certain slots the the opposite section.
sorry if this all sounds complicated but theres really not an easy way for me to describe how to do just trial and error and you will get it working.
on a side note in the drive theirs a motor that drives the loading mech, stick a 9v battery to it see if its that thats burned out
