PS3 in Pelican case –
09-23-2011,06:35 AM
I have searched these these forums (and google) for an answer, but to no avail.
I am building a PS3 into a pelican case, Similar to Ben Hecks ruggidized PS3. The problem i have stumbled upon is how to mount the disassembled LCD screen in the lid of the unit in such a way that it is secure, protected from objects and looks good (again similar to be hecks PS3 and XBOX in pelican cases.)
If it helps i have found another setup that i really like. The lid portion looks clean and is the resault i am after
google: DIY Weekend: Mobile Xbox setup 007 would love (i am unable to post links)
Is anyone able to help me?

You could take a thin piece of wood fit to the size of the pelican case with a hole in the the viewable size of the lcd screen, and trim the back of it with a smaller piece of wood the size of the entire lcd screen, with the center cut out to the viewable size, so that the lcd fits inside of it securely. Then you can affix the new assembly to the pelican case with screws using something similar to the motherboard mounting screws usually used for plexiglass cases (they're extra long). Those mounts could just be glued in, because you could still remove the whole assembly. I said wood because I'm assuming you don't have access to a CNC Mill to use plastic and form it correctly. Also, if the lcd has a little wiggle room, you could use adhesive strips to further secure it in place, similar to how smartphones are built.

Reason: Clarifying.
