    Hi there,

My PS3 is about 4 months old. I use it with HDMI and a DVI monitor (Samsung's). Recently, I have noticed that my PS3 is occasionally showing a Blank Screen in the middle of a game or even on the XMB. It occurs for a brief moment, lasting for at the maximum a few seconds. Then it may not occur till an hour or so. Sometimes, it is very frequent, occurring every 5-10 minutes. At first I thought it was due to some loose contact with the HDMI cable or my power cord. But I don't think so.

Why is this happening? Is it a major hardware failure or early signs of a hardware failure? Should I get it serviced? And if possible, how can I get it fixed?

Just in case, I am mentioning how I setup the monitor and the PS3>
HDMI to DVI cable is connected to the PS3 and the DVI monitor and sound is through the AV cable. I am running at 720p.

    Thanks in advance.

Worth to check "Deep Color Output (HDMI)" on "Display Settings". My TV does blank screens, corrupt images and crack/pops sounds if this option is set to "Automatic".
