PS3 Lagging and Stuttering in XMB, Slow Startup
Ok here is the story:
I started to play ps3 games a few days ago after a huge break (~6 months) . First of all I downloaded some new games I missed (Azura Wrath, Ninja Gaiden 3,etc..) and moved them to ps3 HDD. (No lags at this point)
I use "KMEAW CFW (lvl2 patcher + multiman)" btw.
After moving the games, I thought it would be a good idea to update the multiman. So I downloaded the multiMAN ver 04.06.02 BASE+ package and installed it over the old multiman version (02.09.02 or something similar to it).
This is when Lags started to appearing (after installing the new multiman package) . XMB became so slow when loading icons and there was a few second freeze when choosing a game, program, or option.
I thought maybe the multiman package somehow messed up the system files. I tried to download the FULL multiman this time (04.07.00) and installed it over the 04.06.02 one. but it got worse. the 06.02 version got corrupted and i couldn't start 04.07.00
Anyway I did some research, but there was no info on multiman for being the cause of the lags.
1. I tried some recovery options like "Rebuild Database" and "Restore File System" but no luck.
2. I tried changing the CFW in this order : kmeaw CFW > Trueblue CFW v2 > OFW > Rogero CFW (latest) - still not fixed.
3. I did a full "check and repair bad sectors" on the ps3's HDD using my pc. and it was totally fine.
4. Tried to connect the ps3 to the pc monitor, and another power source. checking the cables, changing the controller and again not fixed.
Right now I am having a hard time using XMB interface and starting games, There is tons of lags and freezes.
1 more important thing to mention, I tried playing a game. There is no lag in games, but startup parts are slow (showing logos, loading the saved games). I don't think this could be the GPU or the CPU.
Does anyone has a clue what could be the cause of this ? Is this happening because of that multiman update, or its just that the system wasn't used for 6month and maybe it got dust or something in inner parts ?
Thanks in advance.
