PS3 HTPC –

Well, to be honest, itīs far from a PS3 by now...but no reason not to share my project.
About a year ago I decided to put a normal PC into a PS3 case...so far so good, but there were some things I needed:
- Silent ( Not "yay, only 20db" silent, but really silent )
- Low power consumption
- Low temperature ( because it should also function as a server 24/7 )
- 1080p decoding
Because of the 1080p decoding an Intel Atom was out of the race, even with ION it wasnīt fast enough or not cool enough. I knew from the beginning that it would be quite expensive, so I postponed the whole thing for a bit. Two weeks ago I started getting the parts and preparing the case.
I used the following parts:
- Intel Core i3-530
- Gigabyte GA-H55N-USB3
- 2GB Corsair XMS3 ( enough at the moment )
- Scythe Big Shurriken ( Security measure for this CPU, running at 800rpm without any noise )
- 150W picoPSU with 12V power supply ( fanless )
- PS3 FAT shell
- Kingston 64GB SSD
That about sums it up for the internal parts, now some pictures ( pic or it didnīt happen... )

There are still some things to do ( LED, use original PS3 buttons, USB ports in the front )
