PS3 HDD no longer works after PC use
PS3 HDD no longer works after PC use –
So I have to remove my PS3 formatted hdd(SAMSUNG SpinPoint MT2 HM100UI 1TB 5400 RPM). I need to change something with the hdd firmware so I must reformat it to fat32 for PC use. The thing is, I've done so before with my stock PS3 hdd awhile back and it's never been able to work on my PS3 since. I had wiped all the contents on my PC and tried to reinstall the ps3 system software but, it fails on every attempt. I don't wish to make the same mistake with my new 1tb hdd but, I must use it on my PC to patch the new firmware. What causes this problem and would ther be any way for me to ensure my hdd will continue working on my PS3?
This is what I will be attempting:

Well that's exactly what I did to my stock ps3 hdd. It never worked on my console since. When it attempts to install the firmware to the hdd, it reaches about 60% and skips through the rest of the process, resets and prompts me the same message claiming "ps3 partition not found." It doesn't even ask me to hold select + start for 5 seconds either. Anyways, whatever that problem is, I don't want the same to happen to my new hdd.

Does the PS3 keep record of what the stock PS3 hdd was and/or the last used ps3 partitioned hdd? I have a feeling the reason my stock hdd no longer works after being wiping with easeus was some sort of modification prevention. Maybe it recognized the same model and refused to format, thinking I modified it somehow? I honestly don't know and I'm very hesitant about wiping my 1tb hdd.
Use samsung estool and run LOW LEVEL FORMAT/PROCESS.This will erase all data to the entire drive.
