Whoa TaRDy - ITMASTER may not be that wrong.

They have found a back-door which is documented in the SDK. Formatting HDD puts Ps3 into special mode. And this was done using an OtherOS.Self file included in the SDK.
My point is nothing has been "hacked" They have followed instructions included in the docs of the SDK -
Although with the above said. I think they will break open more back doors and back-ups may be playable. But as for the firmware expect something from Infectus and the sceneteam they have working on it.

sorry I didnt mean it quite as harsh/bad as it came out...however there is another supposed breakthrough in backups that will be announced tonight at 11:38 and it came with a riddle to figure out what FW it will work on...not sure if is is fully legit but hey ill show up at 11:38 for the ps3news

Yeah I've read about that and it sounds interestng, But when playing Pa1 games the laser is not in blue mode so I doubt that ps3 back-ups will be playable. (we'll see - also the poster states stuff about needing time to edit the vid? - He should if true just record and post. Editing videos of hacks is not a good thing). It makes it sound fake.

There is no such things like "100% perfect security" method in this world. They're even trying by playing with fotons on FDDI and Quantum Physic to modify the crypto content over the time if someone try just to "debug", but still, this is only pure fiction until now and will be limited to some very specific aplications (like wire transfer). That ONLY if they manage that in a "product" and not even god knows!

yeah after he missed the first deadline im beginning to doubt him...but from what i understand the method seems plausible

injecting code into a picture save taken during MGS VR missions so when it is viewed back in the game it will have the code run...just theory on what he claims to have done
