I just sold my PS3 on ebay, the guy I sold it to doesn't type English very well.
What I have been able to get out of him, the system will give him gray lines, or not boot up at all. He said something about corrupt data, but I don't know what in the world he is doing.
I didn't give him the same HDMI cable I had been using, and threw in a cable that had been sitting in my apartment. I suggested that he try a different cable. In my auction, I didn't specifically say that an HDMI cable would be included, I just thought I was doing him a favor.
I have tried telling him to unplug everything, plug it back in. Make sure the PS3 and TV both know what HD settings to use.
The machine is an 80gig with kmeaw 3.55 on it. I deleted all the PSN games, and the few games I had backed up, and sent him original games.
Anyone have any ideas? Tips? I had this console for two years, never encountered this issue before. I really don't want to have to have him ship it back. It cost me $40 to ship it, and the money I made is not that great.
I shipped it in a box, inside of a console carrying backpack. It had plenty of packing / padding, and there could not have been any damage from shipping.
He was asking me how to pirate games and other stuff. So, is there any chance this could be from installing a bad pkg? I don't know if he is savvy enough to install a new pup file.
