    Hi.

I have tried to look at a solution for this but not find it. So i try to post it.

I have 3.55 Kmeaw cfw and i have blocked ip to my ps3 in my router to prevent internet connection because i have read that you can get your ps3 bricked.
But now i want to use the ps3 to go online to a webpage to stream tvshows.
Can i just remove the ip block or is there any thing i should do to not connect to psn network and get my ps3 bricked.

I have to say "LOL". Your PS3 cannot get bricked from connecting to the internet on CFW. My PS3 is on 3.55 Kmeaw for a loong time already WITH Internet Access and everything is fine. Someone gave you a really trolling advice

You can't get your PS3 bricked from connecting to the net indeed. But unless you have a CFW with privacy patches, the PS3 sends info to Sony.
The only thing that *might* happen is if you accidentaly update firmware. A spoofer helps avoiding that (so do privacy patches).

You can select patches you want in a CFW with PS3MFW Builder.

If you prefer you can block *playstation.net domain on your router. That way it's impossible to connect to Sony servers from the PS3, which means zero risk of accidentally downloading OFW.

The only thing you aren't allowed to do if you block it on the router is to download game updates (patches, etc) directly from the PS3. You need to download them first on your PC and then install them manually as .pkg

This isn't so bad, though, because most updates coming out now are signed for 3.60.

While it's true you won't be downloading an update off the net if you block playstation.net, the PS3 sends info to various sites when connected, not only playstation.net. This is why the best way to have the PS3 online without issues is the privacy patches.
Especially if you have a second PS3 on OFW, that one wouldn't be able to connect either with your way.
