Okay i played just day before for like 6 hours without any problems maybe frozen 1 time. however next evening i started and it froze couple minutes in the game (i could still hear sound but video was frozen on same frame), i rebooted and again like 5 minutes playing and it shut down and been flashing red light.

I was running air conditioner but it was not super cold that day in the room, usually i run AC all the time when playing because my projector displaces a lot of heat and ps3 seems to be freezing kind of often when temp in room is hot.

I got kind of pissed off and googled video on youtube on how to clean PS3 dust. So i followed it and took it up to the point when i had motherboard out.

What surprised me is that there was no dust almost anywhere maybe few transistors on motherboard covered with dust but overall surface was clean. Is that normal if it was in clean house since 2006?

Also the thermal paste was not dry and it was like tooth paste with water kind of liquid rather than thick as it supposed to be.

Now i put thermal paste i got from radioshack and cleaned dust and it seems to work good after that.

Logo on the bolt outside that removes top panel was on and intact.

What you think was it opened before by someone?

well what color was the thermal paste and what model is your ps3?

i can take a security seal off and put it back and you would never tell the difference.

More like HAD because it did not freeze since then. Thermal paste was white like tooth paste i think. And it was literally soft/liquid like tooth paste. which i know is impossible i changed thermal paste on PC's few times and it does hardens up after few month's this one was purchased in 2006 as previous owner told me so 6 years. The one i put was very dark white and thick like glue.

Model is in my signature where can i look exact model number?
