PS3 Flashers

I am new to this site but modding although this is the first ps3 i am too mod. I have been doing research on moding the ps3 for about a week now and am looking for some input .

Here is what i have:

Slim ps3 250 gig hdd
Model : cech-2001b

Wanting to be able to play my backup games and do some homebrew stuff as well

I was looking for some input as to what flasher would be best E-3 or progskeet etc. I am hoping to get some responses from peple that have used them and which one would be better for what i would like to do.

What firmware do you have on it? if it's 3.55 or lower, then just install a custom firmware. If you've updated then I'd go with the e3 flasher. They just put out a new version and seem to support it well. They should have a compatibility chart on their site

I wish It was 3.55 I bought it from a pawn shop and it already had 4.0 on it

Since you have no problem buying used, some pawn shops will let you do trades. Might have to go to or call a few of them, but they'll let you check the system version before you buy. Offer them 20-30 bucks for them to do the paperwork on the trade of your console and a different one. It would probably be easier in the long run than buying and using a flasher if you're not familiar with them. You just have to find one on 3.55 or lower. They are out there. That's where I got mine from. It was still on 3.15 when I got it and it was the first pawn shop I checked

I am thankful fo all the post however i am looking for people that have used these Flasher and what they have thought of them from personal experience I am not going to go call around to different pawn shops I have already done that and checked the 3 pawn shops where I live all have at least 3.7 or up So i do not have much of a choice in the flasher. I just would like some input on which one is better from personal experience. Sorry if this post sounds kinda harsh was not my intention
