PS3 F#ck*n died!!!

Sorry posted this to vent out my frustrations. I rercently bought a 60gb PS3 from Best Buy 2 weeks ago and while play Call of Duty 3 today the system powered completly off and now no power runs through it (no leds) and Ive pretty much did everything to narrow it down to a fuse on the mobo or the powersupply gave out. On top of that the game ( a rental ) is still stuck in the drive with no way to get it out.

damn.. that sucks. i kinda know how you feel (my 360 died yesterday).
btw why did you open your console? your warranty is done right now, correct?
p.s. there's no emergency eject button or anything?

I'm more worried about the rental. The penalty points for not giving it back escalates pretty well as time flies. If you are gonna go through the warrenty replacement route, I'd inform the rental company first.

Didnt open it at all just my assumtions from my electronics background after isolating the problem to the console and not the power strip or power cord.

is it even possible to justify the problem of power supply w/o opening the console ?

well if the warranty sticker is intact there's nothing to worry about. ps3's seem like a solid consoles (unlike others *cough*360*cough*)

Well If its the same sort of problem ive seen in ps2's its either the main fuse in the power supply blew or the main fuse on the mobo is dead, either way i know its a fuse

Call the rental company and explain and use your warrantee. I think that's the best thing you can do. If you open it yourself you lose the warrentee, and then you're truly ****ed up. (I know because of experience

)
