I got my PS3s MAC and IP address blocked on my Linksys router and confermed it will not connect to the Internet. However, I am wondering if I connect with FTP, will my PS3 connect to Sony through the FTP connection?
    I didnt do it!!!
But if I did, I was justified!!!

no it will be safe to FTP. It will be a connection between your PC and the PS3 only, and to boot all the traffic will be local, as to say, nothing is going to the "internet", only on your own network behind the router.

Sweet. Thats all I needed to know. Was on another Thread and was inquiring on this.
http://psx-scene.com/forums/f189/how...-banned-81285/ (How to keep full Internet access while blocking Sony to avoid getting banned.)
Mines the last post. I tried doing what was posted but Im guessing the Topic poster probably is trying to get more sales on that website. All I had to do was Block the MAC and IP. Dont have to do all that technical stuff.
    +1 for helping conferm this

Blocking the IP is overkill if you made sure the MAC was entered correctly.

It's much easier to use a bogus default gateway on the PS3 (just choose any empty Ip address), you get full LAN functionality and no internet connection, if that's what you're after.
Unless it's Carmen Electra calling for an emergency titty f**k I'm not here
