PS3 Clock –
I have a 60 GB PAL launch unit and i want to ask something about the clock.
Every time i unplug the power cord, connect it back and open the PS3 i have to set the clock again.
Sometimes is doing this when i close the power switch on the back without unplug it from power but this is not happening every time.
So i want to know if this is normal or is something wrong with my unit.
Sounds like the internal battery is dead.
So the clock dont need setup every time you unplug the power cord in normal operation ?
Can anybody confirm what is the normal operation of the clock ?
If i have an internal battery problem i want to know it so i will try to replace her.
It sounds like it's an internal battery issue.
If someone has repaired it in the past they likely forgot to plug it in. If it just started doing it then it may have just died.
Different versions have different batteries, but it's a cake to swap out. If it has the cable on it, be careful removing the battery, and if it is one of the ones where the battery housing is mounted to the board make sure you don't break the plastic clip. But if you do some heat tape will hold it just fine.
Normal operation is that it will keep the time stored when unplugged. The battery is what keeps the clock going.
So you are confirm that my unit behavior is not normal.
