PS3 CECH2501B bricked in a downgrading
PS3 CECH2501B bricked in a downgrading –
Some months ago I bricked my ps3 CECH-2501B trying to downgrade it to 3.41 firmware (it came with 3.50 firmware).
Well, I used the downgrade trick (3.55 to 3.41) with QA Flagged and the ps3 shutted down in the middle of update in recovery mode.
So, any time that I turn it on, he beeps the red light three times and shut down immediately.
I tried to bring it to sony to know the price and they said I need to change the motherboard (the cost is 500 reais =~ 230 dollars).
I ask eflasher and they said that I need a backup of the bios of my ps3. I don't have it.
OBS: I don't remember if I used 3.41 firmware or 3.41(3.56 fake) firmware, but I don't think it made any difference.
I need to know if I can repair it by myself and how to do it if is possible.
Thanks for replying.
so when you downgraded to 3.41 you were originally on 3.50? if you have a factory service mode dongle, put the ps3 into FSM the traditional way, then put file 1 and the 3.50 OFW on the root of a thumb drive. put the thumb drive in the left usb port and the FSM dongle in the right usb port. power on the ps3 and let it do its thing. when it turns off, remove both dongles and put file2 on the root of the thumb drive (without the OFW) then put it on the ps3's right most usb port and turn the ps3 on, let it turn itself off, then take the thumb drive out. now comes the moment of truth. turn the ps3 on without any dongle or thumb drive in it, and if your lucky, it will boot :P
you will need a factory service mode dongle and "file 1" and "file 2" "lv2diag" .........google for it.
this also works on (some) RSOD ps3's that get RSOD from bad firmware updates. i RSOD one of my ps3's once, i fixed it by going back to the original firmware i was on before it RSOD. i used the exact process i just told you. this could possibly fix your problem.
you need to research your console version. i think if your ps3 came with 3.50, i dunno if you can use these files. and i dunno if you cant use these because they wont work, or if you shouldnt use then to downgrade, but anyways, if your ps3 is already bricked....whats there to lose?
try it at your own risk.

Dump your NOR using either progskeet or eflasher. It still contains your console's unique ID's, and if you miss them - it's over indeed. Try to patch your dump with dospiedra's files, this could do the job.
NoobZilla, there is no way he can enter FSM without hardflasher, this is RLOD man...
If you did use the 3.41/3.56fake then that was a mistake. Can you get into recovery menu and if so what update version does it ask for?
No, the ps3 turns off exactly one~two seconds after I turn it on. I have no time to make something like that.
