PS3 Blueray not getting detected! :(
PS3 Blueray not getting detected! :( –
Guys - I've got a PS3 on 3.55 KMEAW
One fine day in the morning, I noticed that the PS3 is not showing the Blueray icon and none of the games are opening up (when I open multiman, choose a game and come back to XMB)... It was working till last evening... there was no physical damage (it dint move at all) etc.
I have 130+ title collection (ofcourse on my HDD and not Bluerays), 2 controllers, 2 move controllers all lying in my cupboard since last 2-3 months (such a heartbreak!!)
Could someone please help me out with what could be the next steps... Its out of warranty and in any case I am not willing to take it to Sony Center (as they may flash it with latest firmware)... I scaringly opened it one day to see if all the data cables are correctly connected (and they were as far as I could see)... I also reflashed it with 3.55 OFW in case my CFW got corrupted somehow but still the same.
Any help/guidance would be deeply appreciated!
i am not sure if this is gunna help you but you could try Rebuild Database go to recovery mode and then Select Rebuild Database.i hope it help .
Can you hear the disc spinning inside your console? If not, most likely your bluray laser is either dirty or gone bad. What model console you have? If it's a BC system like CECHA01 or CECHE01, most ikely will need the laser replaced as they use the single lens laser which is known to go bad more often than dual lens lasers. If you're unsure if you have single or dual lens laser just check to see if the discs physically spin as their pulled into your console, or if they pull straight in. If pulled straight in, then it's a single lens. If spins, dual lens. Make sure when replacing the laser you swap it w/ the EXACT same stye of laser.
Thanks amp2006 for the suggestion
I'll try this when I get home
Thanks D3c3pt1c0n for quick response. My question is if the laser has gone dirty, the BDROM should still be detected... isnt it? coz I just need system to detect BD ROM... I am anyhow playing games from HDD
The laser needs to detect a bluray game in order for your games to play off HDD. So if your lasers bad and not detecting game, your games are not going to run off HDD. I did however see somehere a packaethat allows you to run games & packages that bypasses the bdrom. May work pefect for you until you get a new laser.
Great D3c3pt1c0n! Could you please share some Url/Resource where I could find it?
Keyword search bluray drive bypass 3.55 . I can't post links. But it's on this site. Google keywords & should be your top choice
