if you are using mac, it directly formats using fat32, but if you are using windows chances are you formatted it in ntfs, but you can still format it in windows in fat32 using 3rd party software or freeware somewhere

what HDD do you have that is 500gb? i thought the largest size availible was the 320gb.
I thought saving 15% on my car insurance was good but having my ps2 modded by N£TM£ÇH was way better!

nope, there are 2.5" hdd`s available already with more than 320gb in capacity, i have a buffalo 620gb external hdd which the largest capacity i saw yet for its size, but unlike the portable ones like 250gb, 160gb etc, it uses its own voltage source and not powered through usb source

now you really have my interest sparked. i do know you can use larger HDD's that are through the usb BUT the only HDD you can fit into the ps3 is up to a 320gb. that is with OUT modifications. but you mentioned that they are others can you show me a link or even the name of the internal hdds that are availible? thanks

sorry, i didn`t mean to misinform, what i mean is i`m using a bufallo 2.5" 620gb hdd as an external, but i haven`t tried putting it in my ps3, so i have no idea if it will fit on the ps3 or not, i only assumed that all 2.5" sized hdds will fit on the ps3
