Hey everyone,
just bought one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT
and I'm worried it might be a scam since the price is so low and so little info is given... anyone else seen stuff like this on eBay before?

You never know with a user with that low of rating. Could be 100 percent legit or a scam. 30 days shipping times seems crazy, since they ship stuff from china quicker. But i never ordered anything from northern Canada.
It's an old hardware revision, from the first batch. It's like old 60GB model, but with smaller HDD and without Wifi. In short: Suck a lot of power, generate lots of heat and is likely to YLOD after a while. It's all black. Why are you asking after buying?
It also comes with Sixaxis.
@szlifier because I let my impulses get the best of me... heh. I already have a PS3 Kiosk model that I can't jailbreak on so I wanted to get another for hacking. The lack of WiFi, etc, isn't so much of a big deal to me because I live in rural Tennessee and I have to use Verizon cellular for everthing. (Cable company is about a half mile down but won't wire here, really annoys me... but thats another story) Backwards compatablity is really why I want the older models lol
Huh? -- I live in canada myself, and this part makes no sense?
I mean how far NORTH is this person? -- North Pole, North? -- Even if that was the case it would not take that long. -- Even by Ground UPS which is dirt cheap, you would be looking at the most 7 business days.unfortunately due to the low cost shipping and the far distance from northern canada the shipping times are as follows:
Canada: up to 20 business days
USA: up to 30 business days
I think he wants to length it out long enough you will not be able to file a paypal complaint.
The 20gb model has not been around since 2006, so these brand-new would have been sitting someplace for 4 years.
Hate to say it, but I seen PS3's and 360's die just sitting on the shelf.
RoHS (lead-free solder), has a shelf-life, it is know fact, even if the unit was NEVER turned on, there is very good chance the first time you FIRE THE POWER SWITCH, the lead-free-solder will spike and crack and bang instant YLOD!
I personally have see it happen, I had someone bring into my shop 18 40gb models all sealed in their boxs, every single one either blink or died within a couple of hours of usage. -- They were found in back of closed down video store, never sold, sat in storage locker for a couple of years.
Anyhow, that is my 2 cents worth, regarding my thoughts on this auction!
Damn... well I've already contacted the seller for pictures of the unit/box, so I guess I'll see... I might have to use the force cancel thing on eBay...
Well, it doesn't hurt to at least wait and see. Contact paypal and let them know you are a little uneasy about the transaction, and find out EXACTLY how long you have to file a claim since it appears the seller is quoting very long shipping times.
Also, he sold 8 of these units so if it does turn out to be a scam there are going to be 7 other people all filing the same complaint. That should go well for you.
