Problems with CECH-3001A Blu Ray Drive (stopped working)
Problems with CECH-3001A Blu Ray Drive (stopped working) –
A friend's PS3, model CECH-3001A stopped working sundelly, no tray activity or optical mechanisms movement. There's no function at all
I've checked the ribbon cables connected to it and they are OK. PSU outputs seems ok also (5.5 and 12v)
I read some other forums / threads that this model has no controller board. Accordind to these posts, it was integrated with Mainboard. So I speculate it could be some problem with Mobo, specially the BD IC.
My first question is if someone has experienced this kind of problem in the same model, and if have solved it.
The second is: How can I check if BD IC on baseboard is ok? There's some diagram pinout where I can check voltages?
The last one: In case the problem is the drive, a replacement must be "married" with the baseboard, even if this model's drive has no daughter board?
Thanks in advance!
You say you have checked the cables, did you physically look at them or did you have replacement cables to test to compare?
Hi, I checked them using a multimeter.
Do you have any other hint?
Tkx in adv!
Same problem here. A Ps3 3001A that drive stopped.
I tested the drive in another ps3 and it's work perfectly, so problem is not on the drive. If the first cable in the top left on the drive is disconnected, the same symptom appears(drive not respond), if other cables disconnected the symptom is different.
