did you tried to Rebuild HDD database in Recovery Mode if not try that .
if still doesn't work you should try to to plug the HDD to PC and scan for any errors .

your pc might ask you to assign a partition or format the drive when you connect it depending on what you're running. DO NOT DO THAT
Fiery the angels fell. Deep thunder rolled around their shoulders... burning with the fires of Orc.

This is a fix that works with people that get an 800**** error at the end of the restore and fixs it so you can finish the restore.
Hit O (to cancel) at the 99% mark and it will stop and rebuild the database for you and then restart. Once your back in your XMB menu you will be able to see that the restore took.
I had an Issue with a 400 Gig restore that would freeze at 98% for 3 days. And would not go any further. I did this fix and i only lost a coule saves. I figure thats good considering 2% of 400 gigs is a lot more that 2 saves.
If it does not work you can always try the restore again, but it will work at the point when you hit "Circle".
Hope this helps

I dont believe thats the restore hes talking about.... hes talking about a corupt file system not restoring a backup..... either way sounds like you will have to format the drive.....

only one thing you can do and thats format hard drive, from console being turned off, press and hold power button. hold it down whole time so console boots up, beeps then powers off, now once console off again, do same process press hold power button, it will beep, but when it now double beeps in row "beep beep" release finger from power button. a service menu will appear, once up choose restore system, it will format your ps3 all data will be lost, its onloy way, now data can be retrived and to be honest you dont want to retrieve any as its corrupt. if such problem reoccurs, you have a bad sector on the hard drive, in which a replacement hard drive is to be considered
hope this helps
