power save settings and controller charge
power save settings and controller charge –
Is anyone else extemely annoyed at having to turn off the controller power savings option everytime you want to charge your controller? Otherwise it only charges for ten minutes, then turns off and all the lights blink and you have to press the ps button again then disable the option and once it is charged enable the option again.
I haven't had a problem with it. My power save setting is set to on, which saves from having to charge the controller every other day. I can actually go almost two weeks between charges. But when I do need to charge it, I just plug it in and let it charge. Even if the controller sits idle long enough to make it power down, it still continues to charge until the battery is full. I don't know what might be wrong with yours system, whether it is the PS3 or the controller. I wonder if anyone else has these problems. Sorry if my reply doesn't help, just wanted to offer my input on the matter.
If I try to do anything with the controller when it's hooked up directly to the PS3, it turns itself off, then I have to press the PS button to get it on again.
But it wasn't always like that...ever since FW 2.40 it's been screwed up...
(I have the PS3(SpiderMan 3 40GB bundle) that when 2.40 came out, the controller wouldn't turn on unless I would reset the PS3 over and over until it worked, and the games would randomly freeze...that was some bull sh...)
Yeah, when I plug my controller into the usb I have to press the ps button because all the lights are blinking. I press the ps button, then the one red light lights up, then starts blinking as it charges. If I have the power save settings on, exactly ten minutes later I look and all the red lights are blinking again. It sucks! Oh, I doubt it makes any difference, but it is one of the older six axis', not the dual shock 3 one. I do have a dual shock3, but I haven't been playing games lately, so I haven't had to charge it since the firmware came out that added the power save settings...
I honestly don't think it matters if the controller shuts itself off while charging. As long as it is plugged in, it will still charge. You just gotta press the PS button to turn it back on to use it...
I don't think it charges unless the single red light is blinking, then stops blinking and remains solid when it's done. The one time I came back after about two hours and expected the controller to be charged, instead all the lights were still blinking, and it didn't charge.
PS3 will charge my controller at random, had to keep plugging in and out to get it to charge. So I had an idea, plug it into the computer! It has no problem charging and it frees up a USB slot! Instead of buying one of those charge stands, I figure I keep the PC on 24/7 anyway might as well just do it that way.
But for the price a PS3 I shouldn't have to do that...
