Is it possible to create PSN like icons for 4.XX CFW?
Is it possible to create PSN like icons for 4.XX CFW? –
I having been looking everywhere and still have not found a definitive answer. Is creating icons for games in the XMB availible? I know how to make shadow copies in multimam but the part that is hanging me up is how to create a PKG file that link to the HDD0/G/XXXXX folder the shadow copy is linked in. I have tried the Eboot Fix program and it does not work with most of the 4.XXX releases I have tried.
So if anyone knows how I would go about doing this please fill me in.
the eboot fix program you're talking about should work as long as the keys for it have been updated
Do you know where I can get the keys to put in the '.ps3' folder? Or can I use some that come will a resigning program, if so would I have to rename the keys file to something? Might the program automaticly use the correct file by default?
Edit: Never mind, DarkEdootFixer had them all the way to 4.30. Will try and let you all
Edit: Success! Alright, here is the simplified version on how I got it to work.
1. In Multiman go in to the HDD0/GAMES folder and go in to the game you want to fix to the XMB. press circle on the PS3_GAME folder and use the option that creates a shadow volume.
2. Delete any updates for the game if it says the current game is up to date.
3. Download multiman_eboot_fix and unrar it to a folder.
4. Download DarkEbootFixer and unrar that into another folder.
5. Take all the files in the .ps3 folder located in DarkEbootFixer and then copy them to the MM Eboot Fix .ps3 folder, let it replace the files it wants to.
6. Copy your backed up EBOOT and PARAM files to the PS3_GAME folder you are about to use.
7. Drag and drop a ps3_game folder on to EBOOT_FIX.exe andwait unti it closes.
8. Now copy the PKG file to the PS3 from the BLUS/BLESXXXX [NPDRM] that says (HDD)-355.pkg, NOT (HDD).pkg.
9. Run the PKG file from the XMB.
There should be an icon in the Game or Game/Playstation 3 folder in the XMB menu.
There ya go.
I haven't gotten games w/ updates to work the EBOOT FIX app crashes when you try to use the EBOOT from them. Also I tried True ancestor with the original EBOOT's and it still crash's. I have not tried it while on 4.21 yet, just on spoofed 4.30, I have no idea if that will make a difference. But it would defeat the purpose of quick booting from the XMB if you had to go back and forth from 4.21 and 4.30.
This was a preliminary kind of test. Hopefully someone will help me work some of the bugs out and maybe a dev will write a program that can incorporate the make_self_npdrm and psn_package_npdrm app. I tried messing around with the NPDRM_GUI but thats a bit over my head, I am sure someone will know how to work it and find out if it can be used to simplify this process.
EDIT: Sorry if this doesn't work, honestly I tried doing this with the above mentioned steps and I cannot get it to work again,>8(
I am going to try a bunch of different stuff with the BLUS/BLESXXXXX (HDD)-FW_355 PKG instead of the other one). Like the updated EBOOT and PARAM with the original folder. I must have mixed up something cus now I cant get it working after I removed everything. (I could have done something dumb like mixed up those 2 pkgs)
If i don't post back it's because its about 4am and about to go to bed.
If you get it working be kind enough to post whast steps you did, thanks.

Thanks for your efforts here,
I came here to ask the same question, I was hoping for that your instructions would finish at point number 2.
The rest seems like way too much messing around, I'll give it a go anyway.
I wish it would be that simple
If i could figure out how to write that eboot_fix program so that it would just use the param and eboots you put in the PS3_GAME then it would be working. Unfortunitally I don't know how he compiled it. I am gunna mess with the the programs in that folder so that it will just make a pkg and link it to the HD. It might be easier to make it into a 4.21 cfw fix like the original program was. Any help would be appreciated.
