About LinkBacksgot another ps3, turn on and fans kicks on high. then shuts off. i replaced the rsx paste as well as paste on heatsinks. now the ps3 just ylod's. looked a bit and this is what i saw...
could this be the reason? right next to usb port. believe its the actual casing of usb

09-02-2012,10:01 PMpersonally, i would def replace the solder on those. just use a wick or a sucker, then resolder it.
take a pic of the other side of the same spot and upload it.
you can get ylod from hardware and sodtware. so resolving this will be a step in the right direction. you should also trace out the bus going to this and coming from it and see if anything else looks bad. you should also check your PSU just incase its surging the mobo.
thats where i would start.
also... what is the mobo model?
