Playstation move problems.
Playstation move problems. –

Hi guys.
On thursday i bought 2 playstation move controllers, brought them home and tried to sync them with my console but for some reason they will not sync.
I plug them in via USB, the red light at the bottom starts flashing as if it was charging than i press the PS button and the red light starts rapidly flashing for a few seconds than goes back to a slow flash indicating its charging.
So i rang sony and they told me to take both back and get replacements, so i did and still same problem, rang them again and all they could suggest is try it on another system which ill try later this arvo.
I was wondering could this be because im using PSgroove?
Whether i try to connect the controllers in dev mode or in retail mode it does not make any difference, the controllers will not sync.
I even tried resetting my ps3 to default settings, even tried the reset button on the back of the move controller nothing wants to work.
Its really weird my DS3 and six axis controllers work like a charm, but the 4 move controllers i have gone through just refuse to sync.
any ideas?

Very strange, it worked fine here.
Reset to factory defaults and try again. THe problem has to be with your PS3. Four controllers not working correctly is _very_ unlikely.

Yea thats what i thought, one faulty controller ok, 2 possible but unlikely, 3 stretching it a bit but 4?
I have reset to factory settings still no luck, im going to try get into sony central tomorrow see if they can figure out whats going on.
It would not be because of PSgroove could it?
O, BTW they cant tell i have it installed can they?
I deleted the backup manager and the games just in case.
Thanks.

well that's difficult to answer. i don't think there's a lot of people with psjailbreak who had to get their ps3 fixed yet. Either you wait a while until someone else had his ps3 fixed or you're gonna be the guinea pig
edit: if sony is evil though they just might patch your jailbroken ps3 to 3.42

mine does the same slow flashing..after sync
until you remove the USB cable!
I assume you have tried that?

LOL, yea of course ive tried that after i press the PS button to sync once the LED goes back to a slow flash i unplug the cable and the move controller turns off.
I know its not syncing because every time i press the PS button it tries to sync, if it had already synced the LEDs should not flash rapidly i should get a icon in the right corner of my battery level just like the DS3 or six axis would.
I'm on 3.41 at the moment, starting to wonder if i update to 3.42 if it would work, when i rang customer support he said it would not make a difference.
I'm starting to wonder if jailbreaking my ps3 is worth it, i cant get onto PSN anymore, 99% of the games i installed on my HDD do not work, its starting to be more of a headache than its worth.
I'm going into sony central later, see if they can get the controllers working on their demo unit if they can than it means my consoles faulty so i should take my ps3 back to EB and getting a replacement since i have their 2 year extended warranty.
Should of done that in the first place, but than i was not sure it was the console.

LOL, nah i wont be the guinea pig since my console is out of sonys 1 year warranty i have to take it back to where i bought it which was EB, i have a 2 year extended warranty with them.
They will give me a replacement unit, than send it off to sony for repair than comes back and EB uses it as another refurb.
Probably a good idea to format the HDD just in case, just got to copy across my saves, only problem is i just got the plat in GOW3 and mafia 2, since i dont have PSN access i cant sync my trophies

Finally got a referb of EB today lucky i got the extended warranty with my ps3 otherwise i would of had to pay sony 250 bucks just to look at the stupid thing!
Move works like a charm now, looks like it was PSgroove that was causing it to not work.
I'm scared to put it on my referb unit now because if i do it will probably stop move from working like it did on my last one, and now i got a referb i cant go back and get another one.

It could have also been an issue with how many devices you have registered with the system, and there just weren't enough slots for the Move Wands. I mean, I remember Sony announcing that it could support up to 7 devices (maybe 8) was a while ago. But if I push the button on my Move, to show battery life, it shows up as controller 7. I'm picking up another wand or the motion stick tomorrow, so if I run into problems then I'll let you know!
