I've bought a Playstation 3 60GB with a broken bluray drive. When I Power on the Playstation 3 with disasembled bluray drive it shows that it totally doesn't do anything. Now I want to replace the whole bluray drive (without the pcb). The drive isn't dead because you see the laser move slightly when you turn on the ps3, but the loading mechanism and the moving mechanism for the laser isn't working. Also when trying to upgrade from 3.10 to 3.41 I get an error around 79% (went to 85% once) (8002F14E if i remember right)

Here is where i need some help. I found several new bluray drives for the kem-400aaa but they are all listed for model CECHC01 and i have a CECHC04. Does it matter? Or can i just order a drive for the CECHC01 version?

And if someone has a spare bluray drive please reply

if i was you i would read the version of drive and laser from the laser.

I recently replaced a laser on a 40gb one, and i just got the same as the number from the laser. Do not care about the cech no, as i do not think it matters in this case.

mine was cech03 or something, and i could only find ones for sale on a cech01 or something.

The laser number is what i used to find the new laser for my ps3.

Ok thank you, i'll just order a whole new drive then with the correct model and laser number and ignore the cechc no.
