Playing games off HDD vs disc

What are the advantages of playing the games directly off the disc instead of the disc? I imagine some of these are it:

- Faster loading time
- No wear on the disc drive
- No disc read noises

Are there any other advantages or disadvantages for that matter?

Ability to not have to get ass off of couch to change what game you want to play.
