Physical size of the PS3 CPU and GPU? –
This might seem like an odd question, but bear with me...
I'm getting myself a hot air setup so I can reflow consoles properly (rather than using a heat gun) and also learn to reball before I move onto a more expensive setup. I've managed to get a sweet deal with a hot air machine for de-soldering components, a holder for the hot air wand so I can set the height as needed and a pre-heater to go under motherboards.
However, the package only comes with the standard nozzles for the hot air wand, and a couple of nozzles for the 360 (CPU/GPU and RAM IIRC).
What I'm wondering is if anyone happens to know the physical size of the CPU and GPU inside the PS3. For example, I've found out the GPU in the 360 is 35mm square and the CPU is 31mm. I believe the nozzle coming with the hot air station is a 35mm designed specifically for BGA's... so it should work on both chips (if not, I'll get a 31mm for the CPU).
