OtherOS and Brick(Recovery doesn't show up)
OtherOS and Brick(Recovery doesn't show up) –

Hi,
I tried to install dual boot otheros. But after install, it doesn't display anything. I simply installed these files dualboot cfw, install_otheros.pkg, boot_otheros.pkg, reboot.pkg. I also put dtbImage.ps3.bin into usb drive. Everything worked well till reboot. After reboot it didn't display anything. I've tried to reset hdmi and recovery menu, but nothing happened. My display shows blue screen when there isn't any signal on the hdmi port and it shows only blue screen now. I've tried recovery menu by pressing first 3 beeps to shutdown then pressing 2 beeps. But nothing happens. After two beeps, it is supposed to come up recovery menu. But it didn't. I plugged controller and pressed PS button, but it couldn't connect ps3(red light blanking always).
I have FAT PS3 60GB.
What can I do? I'm waiting your answers.
Regards.

are you absolutely sure the HDMI cable is good? try a different cable or even other display setups such as standard video out.
Also have you tried factory service mode?

Thanks for reply. Actually, I didn't try different display setup, because gamepad(wired) doesn't response when I press the PS button which is I believe ps3 can't boot very well. If you mentioned power+eject button combo as factory mode, I tried it too. I put 3.55 kmeaw firware to usb root and Lv2diag.self to FILE1 folder of the usb drive. But nothings happened.

first try the default video cable from ps3.
i would try to get in factory service mode with a downgrade dongle. if this not works, the coreos is damaged and you can only get it done with flasher.
you have used the right dtbImage.ps3.bin for nands?

@tpryor I don't knwo if dtbImage.ps3.bin is right or not. But I think it is the problem. Is there anything to unbrick if the dtbImage.ps3.bin is wrong?

tbh, i have no ideas about what happens exactly with the petitboot image, but on nand everything is stored in flash, so you have to use a flasher to repair it, if anything goes wrong. i think the petitboot gets written to coreos region

you mean "infectus" as a flasher. Oow, my nightmare is going to start. Soldering, wiring. I hope there is antoher way.

I'll try to format hdd in pc tomorrow. I've searched net, and progskeet and e3 flashers are most easy, aren't they? How can I specify that if the nand is broken or not? What flasher should I use for Nand PS3 Fat 60GB?

I tried to pull the hdd out, and it would warn about hdd but it didn't display anything. Also wired gamepad didn't connect to the ps3. I don't know which options left?
