The Ole Green Light of Death (Ideas?)
I know this had been brought up before but i've got one little kink that the other posts i've seen didn't seem to mention, i can't get to that grand ole restore menu. I re-flowed the unit and it worked great for like 7-12 uses (short at that) and then it went into this green light with no video or audio and SOMETIMES it will come up in the "bad shutdown" screen but the controls are frozen.
I believe something's up but i don't believe it not fixable. I would try another reflow but i don't think that's it. I've heard talk about pennies but i've heard that only works on newer units. I've heard talk about pressure on certain chips but, beyond that, i've seen no real evidence. For it to, sometimes, boot to the "bad shutdown" menu (only when it's cold and been sitting) leads me to believe it's fixable.....somewhere it's trying to work.
The guy, who's video i used to re-flow it, wouldn't give me any advice but QUICKLY asked me if i would ship it to him if he paid the shipping...you know, to "keep". That tells me there's something up and leads me to believe it's fixable....i just don't know how.
Anyone with any real experience (with this model) have any input on how it might be fixed?
Update: My bad, wanted to add in "solid" green light, not blinking.
