no video no audio –

I have multiple units where there is no video or audio, is this normally caused from a bad re-flow? One thing in common with all but one is the existance of a sticky substance almost as though coke was spilled on them and left to dry. Is there anything short of replacing the mother and blu-ray drive that can be done?

Is this on the edges of the whole motherboard? -- Or is it dark brown like color just around the RSX and CELL chips?
If the later, it is too much flux or the wrong type, leftover from a bad attempt at reflow, normally just scrap junk, and not worth the time is trying another reflow.
If the earlier, and you see patchs of white/green blobs near the caps or resistors around the power connectors and front panel area, then is is damage caused by a drink like coke or just plain water, and 100% scrap for sure.

Normally it tends to be on the underside of the motherboard, about 1-2 inches in from the edge of the board.
