Just a small post with some thoughts since I started here. Maybe this will help some other newbs...

I've been a member of this forum for a little while and just recently started posting. Mainly, I've been following the scene since the news that Geohot hacked the PS3....the hypervisor exploit. I am not new to modding consoles. I first started with the PS1, then moved on to the ps2 and psp. I've jailbroken my ipod. A while later modded my wii console. I took the dive last week and modded my original 60 gig fatty PS3. I did this for a few reasons. I like not getting up off the couch to switch games. I love emulation, and I'm a little concerned that the laser will finally give out and I want to keep it in good condition. Running games off a HDD was just the ticket.
When I modded my wii I used the twilight princess exploit. I've upgraded and all was working well, so I left it as is and life took over for a while. I came back to the wii scene a while later to find drastic changes. You could now use FAT32 and NTFS drives. A new system menu that lets you update from Nintendos server and still have homebrew working with little effort. I can go online, do whatever I could before I modded it.
Point being (Oh, this post has a point?), that this ps3 scene is fairly new. It's just a baby! Breakthroughs will come. It has taken 4 years to get here. The next 4 will be fantastic. Just look at how far the great devs working in the scene have come in so little time! I am patient. I've played this game before. I happen to be one of the fortunate ones that have 2 PS3's. I went out and bought a slim last night. My GF is much happier and we can enjoy PSN and all that it entails without worry of banning or other stuff. I still have my fatty modded with Kmeaw's 3.55 and MM. It's safe from updating and I know I've lengthened the life of the console. I will continue to follow the scene and look forward to all the good things to come. It's an exciting time. It's moving way too fast, but what a ride. Sit back, relax, and enjoy it. Getting there is ALL the fun...
