Newbie question on HDD Upgrade –

Hi Everyone
I purchased a PS3 (non slim) with a 60 gb drive. I have a 320 gb drive I am putting in. I first used the boxed options to copy data to a USB drive.
I pulled the old drive, put in the new one, got the message that I need to format the new drive, which I was expecting. HERE is the problem It says something like please insert a drive or USB location that contains something about the OS and it referrred to something like 1.3 or something.(sorry at work and not looking at the screen) I am hoping this is simple and someone can tell me how to clone the info to the new drive or what ever. What is the native drive format for PS3? FAT32? or NTFS or what. Should I format the 320 to that prior?
Thanks everyone

To further the answer, it needs the firmware that you currently have installed on a USB thumbdrive in this folder structure: x:\PS3\UPDATE. The PS3UPDAT.PUP goes in the update folder.
