New WD 750GB and downgrade to 3.41

Happy New Year Everyone! I searched and could not find an answer.

I just received my WD 750GB hard drive. I have a 60GB PHAT PS3. Should I downgrade to 3.41 first keepiing the 60GB drive installed and then install the 750GB drive? Or Should I first install the 750GB drive format it and then downgrade to 3.41? I will be backing up all my games to the internal harddrive.

Install it now. Then in the future (well it will become obselete soon) when you need to downgrade, use the 60GB. But I think the hard drive isn't wiped in 60GB models, so you're fine.
