New to Ps3 and need some help.

Okay, so I got a ps3 that wouldn't read discs on craigslist. I got home and plugged it in and I went and did the update and all of the sudden I was stuck in a loop. Somehow I got it out of the loop, and I had a spare bluray drive so I swaped that over the whole part like the little board on it to. It wouldnt turn on it would go green then red almost instantly. I got a hdd enclosure and used Acronis and when I put it in it said Unallocated. So I set it up and made the entire drive FAT32 and put it back in the ps3 and booted it to recovery mode and tried to do the restore ps3 system and it prepared and just went black and then shut off. I have no idea what to do I also put in a different power supply. Its a 60gb fat ps3 with 4 usb ports.

Put the original bluray drive back in(a pain I know) so you can(maybe) get into Recovery Menu again and look for a BD bypass FW, Rogero has one, to see if you can start up the console and get to the XMB. If that works look into re-marrying the new BD drive, there is an easy to find(in google) tutorial that you can do in 3.55 CFW without having to downgrade.
