new to PS3 help question

Hi all i am new to PS3 as i still have PS2 i want to purchase a used system and would like to know the best one to buy, like slim or fat,model numbers and does hard drive size really matter?
Any other things to look for?

If you aren't wanting any custom firmware, then it doesn't really matter which model you get. Obviously the slims are "better" than the fats (less power/heat, smaller, etc -- but, the end result is the same, they all play games the same, etc). If you are wanting to use a custom firmware (to play backups from USB, use homebrew) then you would need a PS3 that has 3.55 firmware (or less). If you are talking about a Ps3 unit, it would be best to look on ebay because that's where you will find them. I bought mines for $250 (shipping included with the price)

Average PS3 Non BC Unit CFW price
(200-300 Bucks)

Average BC Unit CFW Pirce
(275-400 Bucks)

I AM NOT kidding with those prices

Anyways HD doesn't matter I got an 80gb model non BC and I am satisfied with that. I don't believe in filling up an HD with games that I will never even touch. But HD sizes can always be replaceable

If you want a NON CFW unit (OFW) Better hurry up and get a super slim for $200
