Need help transfering ps3 gamesaves from one jailbroken ps3 to another jailbroken ps3 –
Hey, i have an old fat 20gig ps3 that i jailbroke, its it seems to be dying on me because its freezes randomly and its becoming more frequent. So i purchased a slim ps3 a few months back but haven't been using it and recently jailbroke it ( i figured if i want to play online, i'll just buy a new one).
Anyways, could someone walk me though transfering save files stored on my ps3 fat via FTP or locally through multiman to a hard drive so that i could just copy/paste it into the new ps3s internal hard drive. Thanks!
Jailbroken or not you should just be able to backup the save files to external media (FAT32 formatted HDD, USB flash drive, etc.) just from the XMB; locate save file, select copy and choose location. You could do it through mulitman or FTP but this is just easier to do and explain.
Thanks, yeah i know about that method. But the problem with it is that you cant do it with some games, like games where you play primarily online.
I'd also like to know is it possible to copy copyprotected saves from jailbroken console ?
It should be possible for a generic File Manager (like that in multiMAN) to copy the files to an external HDD, but importing them into another console is a different matter.

It certainly will not do so if such gamesave files are in any way encrypted and/or signed with the console ID as one of the keys. Then the gamesave can only work on the one console where it was saved. But I don't know to what extent the games use such methods, so this is part speculation rather than pure fact.
