My system switches off in the middle of the game :(

Hello everyone...i got this weird problem.
whenever i am playing a game...my system beeps twice and switches off....previously i thought it was because of MW3 but today it happened with every game i played.
what should i do.?
i have the phat ps3 60 gig rebug 3.55 cfw

any help..?

Hate to say but those are slow signs of YLOD or your GPU dying out. You have an older system so you will need to get it repaired.

How to get it repaired..because i am from mumbai..and its hard to find a repair shop for ps3.
and i really love my system :S

Oh since you are in india it's going to be really tough you would have to send it overseas to get fixed.

Meh if it was like remarrying a HD then you could do it yourself. What you have is a very serious problem that down the road it's just going to have you to result in getting another console. When the GPU starts to fail the ps3 will become unserviceable. Which is why if a YLOD system gets reflowed no matter how professionally re-flowed the console is the unit is destined to die in the long run.

I know some people but the fix and shipping + handling costs will be as much as you just buying another ps3. Remember you live in India and in the states it's already 20+ to ship it normally I could imagine how much it would cost to ship it overseas. The problem you have is not a permanent fix just a temporary fix the error will occur again or even worse YLOD.

the only problem with the new console is that i personally dont like its looks...so thats why i love this one too much
anyways...i will see if i find anyone here...if not...then i will get a new one

and what about CFW in the new console..?
the base firmware of the new console would be 4.x + i guess

Well if you buy a console brand new then you wont have the ability to run CFW
If you sell your current console in the state that it's in you should get atleast $175USD for it since it's still in partial working condition. But if you want another CFW unit you need to buy it from ebay or amazon.

I just purchased a CFW unit off ebay for $250. So you can expect CFW ps3's to run for that range if you do decide to buy one offline look at the sellers reputation and also the looks of the console and MOST IMPORTANTLY make sure that the warranty seal is still intact. NEVER buy a used console that has the warranty seal broken off. It's just a recipe for disaster.
