my old 40gb ps3 would always kick into high gear fan so fast, playing snes/ or a psone disc it would be sooo loud.
now i have this new 40gb, and ever since multiman came out with the temp stuff in the top ive been scared.
i had arctic mx-4 in there from about a year ago when i got it. i put my blu ray drive in there with the logic board from the new system and thought i would do the thermal paste while i replaced the drive
now i see that my cpu is usually about 83 degrees. however, it never goes any higher.
also, my fan NEVER kicks in past normal. i know it can, because the fan test definately makes it real loud.
i guess my question is: is my ps3 safe operating at cpu 83 and rsx 65 because it never goes over those values, and the fan is never even loud enough to hear it. (my old system would get real loud and turn off)

OK now thats funny cuz my fatt old ps3 the fan goes up to medium speed. Its loud but not as loud as the fan test. I didn't know multiman messed with the temps. I did my thermal paste 3 times thinking I did something wrong and I even cleaned the fan and cooling plates. I cleaned everything thing and my fans still ramps up mid way. The coming out of the ps3 is just warm to. Not really hot at all. So do you think this has to do with anything with multman temps?
