MP3's WILL play but also won't? [OFFICIAL 3.7]

What crap is this? Right now I have music on my hardrive and I'm trying to play some of it in one of the (few) games that support's custom music but it won't play? Yet if I quit to the XMB or make a playlist OF THE EXACT SAME MUSIC, it WILL play. What crap is this?

How the hell can I get ALL MY MUSIC to play REGARDLESS of weather it's in a game or not?\\

I AM NOT ASKING WHY SOME GAMES SUPPORT CUSTOM MUSIC AND DON'T. TAKE THAT TO ANOTHER THREAD

it's crappy, I know, right. but you need to make playlists.

Why do they work in playlists but NOT the separate music in game? Yet work without a bloody problem on the XMB.

OK WOW . . . . I just put MOST of the unplayable music in playlists (one) and they still won't play in a game. Yet separately THEY WILL. WTF

This is just god damned annoying, what makes these 500 (or so) songs different from the other 6200 songs? I've tried MP3, i've tried AAC (converting through iTunes) and they will play on the XMB but WON'T in-game (that supports the feature) . . . .
