You guys are gonna laugh at me, but since day one that I got my PS3 Slim, I had my iPod already loaded with Rockbox and Hermes before my PS3 arrived, so I never play with my PS3 without it (jailbreak mode).

But today when I didn't booted it up with my iPod (jailbreak), I noticed under the Game menu an icon I have never seen before when I Jailbreak it. The icon is called: Memory Card Utility (PS/PS3). Can someone tell me what this is for? I recognized the icon for PS2 cards, but what is this for--I read that the new PS3 Slims don't support PS2 Games--so what's the point for this? And how come this icon doesn't show when I have my PS3 in Jailbreak mode?

They're virtual memory cards for PS1 and PS2. The slim is backwards compatible with PS1, so you can transfer your previous saves here. Presumably on the slim the PS2 memory card is for PS1 saves from a PS2 memory card.

PS1/PS2 isn't supported by the default payload, but you can enable it by mounting a modified copy of the flash from USB.
