Media Server On Wired Network?
Media Server On Wired Network? –
Has anyone ever managed to get the Media Server working with a wired connection to the router?
I've tried all kinds of setting, opened all kinds of ports, but the PS3 and PC don't connect to each other.
I've tried using WMP11, TVersity, SimpleCenter, and some other ones...
The PS2 with SMS and RadHostClient work just fine, but PS3 just won't connect...
That is the kind of setup I'm using. Mine wouldn't see each other at first either. The router I am using was a freebie and I had to hold the reset button for a long time to get back to default settings so I could log into it if need be. I have my modem and the router plugged into the same powerstrip, and I just shut it off and turned it back on and then started the pc and the ps3 and then everything worked fine. I guess the router and modem needed to be turned on at the same time or something? Anyway, after I got the ps3 to see the media server, everything has been perfect since. I use WMP11 btw.
Tried it, tried some other stuff with starting Windows services, and nothing would work...I think I'm just gonna hope that there is a SMS made for the PS3...
Did you read the "pc to ps3 lan" thread on this page? There are some specific instructions to use WMP11 with the ps3.
