i have a question,Can I play this movies with cfw 3.55?
Cos I read and some movies requires to update

u can play that movie fineon ur ps3 . movies will never ask u to update u ps3

3D movies require 3.50, since 3.41 had no 3D support but I believe that's the only exception

Yes, they do. Blu-Ray movies also contain the PS3UPDAT.PUP..just like games.

Unless it's an actual Sony movie there will be no PUP

I don't think it will ask you to update. I highly doubt the would do that.

Only Blu-ray Movies from Sony Home Entertainment contains PS3 Update Files.
For now, all movies contains the 3.21 PS3UPDAT.PUP to disable OtherOS.
3D Blu-rays contains 3.50.

New Movies will contain minimum 3.60 (don't ask where I know that, I made them).

And Yes Lord of the Rings still playable on 3.55 CFW or lower, works on 1.00 too
