Looking to buy a PS3 that is JB compatible, how can I find the right one?
Looking to buy a PS3 that is JB compatible, how can I find the right one? –
as the topic says, I think that I will try to get a new PS3 that is JB compatible, is there a trick to finding a PS3 that is JB compatible? Like a special bundle edition thats always has a certain FW version? Or a manufacturers date?
Almost all PS3s on the market right now are no higher than 3.40, including the 320Gb slims that launched2 weeks ago. The only way to know for sure is to buy it and check, so make sure you buy somewhere that allows you to return for a full refund to be 100% safe.
yeah go to places like walmart or blockbuster and ask when their batches are from - regardless as long as a place as 100% money back stores you should be fine! good luck!
Don't go the EBay route like i did...I email alot of sellers & they had not clue to what i was talking about when i asked them if it had 3.41 firmware or lower.
That's true but I've seen quite a few list them with firmware versions in the auction.

You have a risk of getting a post-3.41 one only if you buy it in already opened box (i.e. a used one).
well, to prevent any further worries, BUY IT NOW
its 3.40 right now. DO IT before a new batch comes
here in italy some brand new console are 3.42 right now, especially 320GB.
Luckly i buyied a 120GB and it was 2.71
A used one is no different than the retail box is stores right now. An open box purchase right now has no more chance than a brand new un-opened box of having 3.42 or above firmware.

Users who knew nothing about JB would just say yes.
