    Hi guys,

Thought I'd give it a shot here before taking this PS3 apart again for parts

I have a PS3 here which supposedly died during the last update (3.60). Ylod.

Fact of the matter is that it was fixed (reflown) once before so I didn't have high hopes of fixing it. Anyway, tried it and lo and behold.. the ylod was gone !

But no video.. not with hdmi, not with standard AV. Tried to get into recovery mode but still no video.

Now, I know it died during an update, so could that be the cause of the non-video stuff ? And if so, is there a way to fix it ?

Of course, a second reflow could have killed the videochip altogether although I'd expect some error beeps or something.

    Hope to hear some feedback

I hope its not the case, but it sounds like the video chip is fried. I had my 60 gb launch model reflowed three times, and it kept getting the ylod faster and faster. The last reflow I got about 8 hours out of it. I finally gave up and paid 99 dollars for a reball service on ebay, and now Ive already logged about 60 hours on that ps3 with no problems.
The reluctance to put away childish things may be a requirement of genius...

From the sounds of it, that does seem to be the case. Oh well, it's been a fun 4 years

    Thanks !
