Just picked up an external HDD but search isnt bring up how to use it with 4GB+ games –
I just picked up a an external HDD and want to back up all my games. Im pretty sure I remember reading that a MM update fixed the issues of 4gb+ games on external HDDs but I cant seem to find a guide on how to go about it. The only guide im finding is how to change games to psarc file type. Can someone please give a quick run down on how to go about the new MM way or atleast link to one? I am currently on Rogero 4.30 v2 and have the latest MM if that matters.
No +4 gig external game support yet

Ok, here is the run down on running games that have files bigger than 4 gigs with multiMan. It cannot be done. The only thing remotely close to that I know is having the psarc files unzipped to the containing files and running the game like that (but that has been around for ages), another way is to run the game normally from the external with the*.6601 *.6601 split files in the directories they were put in from the splitting program and let multiman put it back together in a temporary folder (located I think in the GAMEI folder), and then 8-30minutes later you can start the game. Not very practical.

To actually have +4 gig file implementation on the ps3 would require the firmware to be modded to detect and run NTFS partitions, and I don't see that happening anytime soon.
I know when you skim the headlines and change logs you might see some things that aren't there or misinterpret them altogether.
But as if now the only +4 gig external support lays in the NTFS support on either drives or partitions, and you can only copy from them.
Hope this helps.
